The location is one of the best in Venice together with Cipriani. The service is impeccable and most things can be handled with the concierge from costume return to water taxi reservations. The rooms are -at least the one I was in- not very big but the style is great, details really make it feel "venetian". I also like the large bathroom with a proper tub (and shower). The restaurant (Doge) is really of high quality and when there is good weather, both the restaurant terrace for lunch and the bar terrace for afternoon/evening are great; too cold winter time though. ue to location great for daytime sunshine even in wintertime. Bar itself is quite small so can become busy. Breakfast is good but not perhaps among the best you can have in Italy (compared to hotels at Lake Como for example). Overall the size of the hotel, its location, and its thoughtful character make it a "Grand Hotel" in Venice. Will repeat.

We had to insist to get an upgrade Our room was nice but needs a bit of refreshing. Service was perfect,the restaurant also. Wonderful atmosphere and very nice breakfast on the terrace by the canal.

I enjoyed my 2-night stay at the Gritti Palace and wish I could have stayed longer. I was upgraded to a beautiful corner suite with a view of the Grand Canal. The service of the hotel was exemplary. It wasn't cheap but at least you get what you pay for!
