Our curiosity for absinthe was first piqued after opening our cocktail bar in 2016. We were intrigued by the mystery that surrounded absinthe and the fact that it remained so widely misunderstood. After travelling to the Jura Mountains and meeting the distillers and the Absinthe's birthplace, we became hooked. People are apprehensive about trying absinthe due to it’s high abv, but when diluted properly it can in-fact be no stronger than a good glass of wine.
Allison Crawbuck and Rhys Everett have always shared a passion for unearthing curious tales and rendering them in liquid form. The duo are co-owners of The Last Tuesday Society’s cocktail bar in East London, transforming Hackney’s best-kept secret into the city’s favourite absinthe and cocktail haunt. In 2019, it was voted the Best Bar in London at the 7th annual Design My Night Awards by a public vote of over 180,000 Londoners. In December 2020, Allison and Rhys launched London's first Absinthe distillery: Devil's Botany located in the city's east end.
Traverse between the natural and supernatural realms in a tasting of their award-winning Absinthes. Devil’s Botany range of botanical spirits celebrate the hidden virtues of nature, summoning the delectable powers of the highest quality herbs and spices sourced from around the world in honour of London’s old apothecaries, the great masters of flavour and early mixologists. Guests will explore the botanicals used in the distillation process, touching upon each plant’s history of magic, while enjoying a guided tasting of the absinthes.
