I’ve always had the desire to live in Mexico, to be Mexican, not just simply to move here. I can’t recall how and why — I just knew. Maybe it was a documentary, a book, or an encyclopedia about Mayan and Aztec culture. I opened the first Chic by Accident gallery in Mexico City in 2001 with a selection of 20th-century Mexican design. This was the starting point — to play with the concept of elegance through astonishing pieces.

After having collaborated with some of the biggest name in the design industry (Louboutin, David Cruz, and Phillipe Stark among others…) Emmanuel Picault moved to Mexico in 2000, to be at the heart of his biggest source of inspiration. There, while building his antique collection and curating the Chic by Accident Gallery, Emmanuel also dedicated much of his time designing homes and commercial spaces throughout the country, making a name for himself, and earning a reputation for designing exceptionally stunning private villas.
Roma District through the eyes of Emmanuel Picault
This Immersion allows you to tour around the neighborhood of Roma Norte in the company of one of its greatest champions, Emmanuel himself. During the tour, he will take you to some of the most famous and important landmarks of the area, telling you about their history and significance for the local community. The second part of this experience continues with a tour of a gallery, based on the current exhibitions at the time of the tour, followed by cocktails on the roof garden, in the company of personalities from the art world should they be available.
