Tea should be considered as a gastronomic ally as much as wine.
Lydia Gautier, an agronomist turned tea connoisseur, joined Palais de Thés in 1995 and helped establish the Ecole du Thé, authored books, and became a tea sommelier exploring tea's potential with wine, cheese, and fragrances. She also owns her brand, which is featured in renowned establishments such as La Maison Rostang, Le Meurice, and Hôtel Plaza Athénée.
In this 2.5-hour Lartisien Immersion, Lydia will lead guests through an exploration of the world of tea at two locations in Paris. Starting at Ogata, a private mansion, guests will enjoy a traditional Japanese tea ceremony with 4 different teas and sweet and savory dishes. Then, at Hôtel Plaza Athénée or Le Meurice, Lydia will discuss the life of a tea sommelier and the history and future of tea in Paris through a tasting of various types of tea, including her own creations.
