The first quality of a good sommelier is for me curiosity, which always makes you humble, and allows you to put everything in perspective, and especially to discover and re-discover everything.
With a resume that includes such prestigious names as the Ritz Paris, Hôtel de Crillon, Lasserre, among others, Pierre Vila Palleja has worked his way to the top of his profession as a sommelier. For the last 7 years, Pierre has been the owner of his very own restaurant, Le Petit Sommelier – a traditional Parisian bistrot where clients can enjoy a cuisine that is seasonal, fresh, and flavorful, and a wine menu that includes over 1 300 labels from its cellar of 20 000 bottles. Pierre has also been writing for the Revue du Vin de France, the oldest wine magazine in France, that has been printed since 1927.
Explore Paris and the history of wine in this Lartisien Immersion with 3 stops. Visit Clos Montmartre, once France's wine capital, for a glass of champagne and views of the city. Tour the cellar and taste 3 wines at Cave Legrand, a wine cellar and boutique since 1880. End at Bar Les Ambassadeurs at Hôtel de Crillon for a drink and a chat with Pierre about his life and career.
