The architecture of the city of Mérida is so typical and interesting that I have always wanted to work as an architect to preserve and enhance it. Knowing how to combine the new architecture of the moment with the old traditions is exciting.

Architect
After graduating from the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán in 1994 with a degree in architecture, Henry Ponce started his own design and construction studio, developing several projects, while also travelling and collaborating with various other architects and studios. It would be in 2001 that he finally opened his own interior design house. Currently he passionately carries out restoration work in the rescue of the architectural heritage of the city of Merida.
The architecture of Merida
This Lartisien immersion takes you on a tour within the streets of the Merida city. Henry Ponce will guide you through the incredibly rich architectural history of the place, providing you with a general knowledge of the city itself. You will be able to visit several historic addresses in the city, including the house of the founder of Merida City, followed by Casas Gemelas and La Quinta Montes Molina Museo, the house museums that depict life in Yucatan in the early 1900s. Guests will also have access to visit 2 ancient houses that have been renovated.
